ALNM Week 2

The bad news is, I’m in that post Act I lull that always hits; there are always a few days when I’m not sure quite what comes next, and I stare out windows while I figure it out. Hopefully that’ll end soon. In the meantime…

I am so glad to know that is not just a thing I do. I wrote a big chunk and now for 4 days – nothing.

I can’t stop tweaking and I know why, I know there is a tiny clue in my mystery that isn’t working and I can’t get beyond it. Damn. I’m so frustrated. I think I’m going to remove that whole thread but that is super scary. Oh well, maybe today I’ll have a breakthrough.

I’m with you, Sassy Betty. It’s nice to know it’s not just me. Although, to me, a “big chunk” is 5-10,000 words.
Applause is definitely in order. I’ll even break out the cheer pom poms from my daughter’s dress-up drawer if that helps. (I’m not at all anxious for the book. Nope. Not me.)
Remember what Jack London said, “You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” So if staring out the window doesn’t help, grab the club. I’m sure Jenny will have one hanging around somewhere.

Thanks, guys! Right after I wrote this, I hit on the link I needed, and made 4k words of progress (not all fresh words, a lot of it was editing). Of course, I realized that I dropped my romance plot for something like 60 pages – that’s no good. Gotta get that woven back in there. I will, I will. All in a day’s work…
